It’s a good thing I a flexible with my menu plans, because if I were not, the whole venture would be considered a disaster!  When planning our menu last week, I completely forgot that we would be having a “fondue night” at our friends’ house, and that I would need to make an appetizer that night instead of dinner.  I ended up taking my Aunt Kim’s Sausage Stars, and they were a hit– I didn’t bring any home!

I also think I will go back to just planning “a meal from the freezer” if that’s what I’m going to do.  I had tried to plan on making the ravioli I have in the freezer for the past two weeks.  The night I was going to make the ravioli, tacos just sounded so much better, so I grabbed the taco meat I had already cooked and frozen, and we had those instead.

A few weeks ago, I was watching one of those “How It’s Made”-ish shows, but it was about food.  They were talking about a soft pretzel chain, and casually mentioned that the chain sells “pretzel dogs”.  Well, ever since, I have been obsessing over this idea in my head!  They sound like something my son would love, and that I could easily do with my own soft pretzel recipe.  So, I am going to attempt to make some “pretzel dogs” and see how it goes.  Look back for my report on how these go next week!
