I have been making these Whole Wheat Blueberry Muffins for some time now, and I am not sure why I have not shared this recipe with you all yet! Regardless, this is currently our favorite recipe for blueberry muffins, no matter what time of year. During the summer, we use fresh blueberries. In the winter, we use frozen blueberries, and they are still delicious. I hope that you will enjoy this blueberry muffin recipe as much as we do!
Are you a fan of blonde brownies? I am! These chewy bars have the texture of brownies, but taste more like a buttery, chewy cookie than a chocolatey brownie. This recipe for Simple Blondies is a great one to have on hand. It takes about 30 minutes to go from, “Let’s make something” to actually taking it out of the oven! And chances are, all of the ingredients are in your kitchen.
Are you looking forward to a great Memorial Day barbecue or picnic this weekend? Need a simple summery dessert to take along? Strawberry Cheesecake Pie is an easy cheesecake-like dessert that is a perfect dessert for Memorial Day weekend. Really, it’s so simple that you might find yourself looking for reasons to make it year-round!
For some reason, I don’t have many recipes using buttermilk. Lately, when I’ve had extra buttermilk from making one thing or another, I try to find a new way to use the rest. Lucky for me, through my recipe testing, I have stumbled upon this Buttermilk Pound Cake recipe! This cake is a great use of buttermilk, and makes enough for a crowd. One of the things that I like most about this Buttermilk Pound Cake is that it is lightly sweet and the top has a slight sugary crispness.
It’s pretty hard to top the combination of peanut butter and chocolate in my book. This Peanut Butter & Chocolate Pie is so rich and delicious, and it is a great dessert to serve to guests. There’s a thin pure chocolate layer topped with a creamy peanut butter filling, and to top it all off, add even more chocolate and some whipped cream.
It’s a very special day today… My son turns 5! It has been amazing watching him grow and learn. Every day he is taller and smarter than the last. I am so proud of him! He loves to help me out in the kitchen, and I hope that he will continue to be interested in cooking for years to come.
On to our recipe for the day… Butter Streusel Tart is perfect for breakfast or brunch. It looks (and tastes) like a fancy bread that you could buy at a bakery. It is a little more involved than other recipes I have posted in the past, but I think it is worth the extra effort (and extra dishes!) if you want to add a little extra “Wow!” at the breakfast or brunch table.
I think it would make an excellent dessert, too!
When I first made this Blueberry Buttermilk Cake, it disappeared within about 30 minutes (okay, maybe less…) of slicing into it. Between my two children, my husband, and myself, we devoured it. And then wished I would have made two. You could easily serve this cake for breakfast, dessert, or anytime in between. It is simple and flavorful. Plus, you can use whatever berries are in season, or even frozen berries if that is what you have on hand.
Soft & Chewy Molasses Cookies are a perfect addition to your holiday cookie tray. They are not as spicy as gingerbread (not to mention not as much work!), but very flavorful and sweet. This recipe makes a lot of cookies, so find a festive plate and share with family and friends!
