Chicago Seven Calzones are like a supreme pizza in a portable pocket form. This particular combination of ingredients was inspired by one of our favorite pizzas, “The Chicago 7” at the Old Chicago restaurant chain. They no longer have a restaurant in our area, so of course I had to figure out how to make it myself! Of course, like many recipes I make, these are customizable. Notice that some of the calzones have three slits in the top instead of two? Those have no green pepper, just for my husband 😉
Barbecue Chicken Pizza is an excellent way to make a little bit of leftover chicken go a long way. I crafted this pizza after that of a certain pizza chain, and I think you’ll enjoy this adaptation! Of course, you can always adjust the toppings to suit your tastes, and to fit what you have on hand!
When you don’t have time to make pizza crust from scratch, you can still make a pizza special by customizing the crust! All you need is an egg, your favorite Italian spices, and some Parmesan cheese. There are so many possibilities!
Pizza Margherita is a simple, absolutely delicious pizza. Especially if you use tomatoes and basil freshly picked from your garden! Who says you need lots of fancy ingredients for a flavorful meal?
First of all, Happy Mother’s Day to all of the mothers out there! I realize this isn’t your normal “Mother’s Day Brunch” post or something like that, but I hope you all like it anyway. Celebrate mom by making her something special, no matter what it is!
I love to make and eat the “street food” of Sausage, Peppers, & Onions. Have I ever actually ate it as “street food”? Well, no. But I can imagine that it’s pretty great when other people make it too. When I found some great looking (and great priced!) bell peppers at the market, I knew what I wanted to do with them. However, my husband commented that night that, “Pizza sounds really good,” so I decided to experiment.
Thus, Sausage, Pepper, & Onion Pizza was created. And I’m so glad my husband was craving pizza that night!
Next time you make a pizza at home (such as Honeymoon Pizza!), I would like to encourage you to make your own dough. It isn’t incredibly difficult; it just requires some forethought and time. I think you will enjoy the taste of this homemade whole wheat pizza crust!
And it tastes so much more delicious!
You will love this pizza. My mouth waters just thinking about it… And the story behind it is just about as good!
