Simple Teriyaki Chicken is so easy and quick, it’s barely even a recipe!  However, I wanted to share this super simple way to prepare chicken with you all.  We love to eat it over rice, but it would also be excellent on a salad or even in sushi!  The chicken cooks in less than 15 minutes, and with the use of a sheet of foil, cleanup is a breeze.

Simple Teriyaki Chicken

All you need is raw chicken and teriyaki sauce.  That’s it!  Slice the chicken very thinly… as in about 1/4 of an inch or maybe even a little thinner.  This is easier to do if the chicken is somewhat frozen.

Coat in Teriyaki

Toss the chicken in the teriyaki sauce, cover, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.  I have made this about 24 hours in advance, too.  Just keep in mind that the longer it marinates, the more flavor there will be in the chicken.  You can see the color difference from the time that I first added the teriyaki sauce to after the chicken marinated for awhile.

Marinate in TeriyakiReady to Cook

When you’re ready to cook, turn on the broiler.  Line a baking sheet with some foil, and fold up the edges a little bit to catch any juices from the chicken.  Lightly spray the foil with cooking spray, or spread a small amount of oil around on the foil to prevent the chicken from sticking. Arrange the chicken on the foil in a single layer.  Discard the marinade.

Ready to Cook

Cook the chicken under the broiler for about 4 minutes.  The edges will start to pick up a little darker color, but it isn’t cooked through yet.

Half Done

Turn the pieces of chicken over, and broil another 4 to 5 minutes, until cooked through.

Ready to Eat

Serve as you like, but our favorite style is over rice.
