Instructions
Brown the sausage in a large saucepan. Remove from pan, reserving about 1 tablespoon of grease in pan. Add onion to the pan and cook until onions are golden and translucent. Add garlic and cook 1-2 more minutes.
Add wine, and scrape up browned bits from bottom of the pan. Add the sausage back to the pan along with tomatoes, bell pepper, broth, and spices. Simmer on low for 30 minutes, or cook on low in a slow cooker for 4 hours.
If cooking on a stovetop, turn up heat, add about 2 cups of water, and add pasta to boiling broth. Cook until pasta is done. If cooking in a slow cooker, cook pasta on stovetop according to package directions, and add to soup once cooked.
